||The 2013-2014 season marked a milestone for Head Coach Kevin Borseth. Borseth became the quickest head coach to reach 250 career wins in the history of the program. He did so in his 316th game spanning 11 seasons. The season also saw the Phoenix open at home for the first time in 26 years before going on the road for six consecutive road games for just the third time in program history. While on the road, the team captured both the Vermont TD Bank Classic Tournament and the Maine Black Bear Thanksgiving Tournament Championships, taking home tournament MVP honors at both events. |
Borseth also secured his second recruiting class, ranked 49th in the nation by Bluestar Basketball. "This is a great class for us," Borseth said. "I think it's great to have kids from our area who come to camp, come to our games and then come in to help build our program."
Under Borseth's watch, Green Bay has advanced to the postseason in all ten seasons, including eight trips to the NCAA Tournament. The Phoenix also won the regular season conference championship in each of his ten seasons at the helm, beginning a stretch that currently stands at 15. All told, the 26-year head coaching veteran has an impressive record of 557-235 in his stints at Michigan Tech (1987-1998), Green Bay (1998-2007, 2012-pres) and Michigan (2007-2012).
