About This Event :The 2010 Northwestern Wildcat Wrestling Camps will help you achieve your objectives and drive you to an outstanding 2010-11 wrestling season. You will train with 2X NCAA champion and 2009 Hodge Trophy Winner Jake Herbert and participate in one of the finest collegiate wrestling teams built in the nation. Our Competition Camp will pull teams from Indiana, Illinois, Missouri,Iowa, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin competing for the team title this summer. The Intensive Camp will prepare you for Cadet and Junior National Championships.

The Northwestern Coaching Staff Tim Cysewski:For the last 20 years, Tim Cysewski has overseen a Northwestern wrestling program that has produced four individual NCAA champions--including one each in 2007, 2008 and 2009--, 27 All-Americans, 12 Big Ten champions and 88 qualifiers for the NCAA Championships. In recent seasons, Cysewski has guided the Wildcats to five consecutive top-15 national finishes as a team and tied a program-best with its fourth-place NCAA placing in 2007.

Drew Pariano: Associate Head Coach at Northwestern. A former Northwestern wrestler, Pariano is in his fifth season as the top assistant coach to Tim Cysewski and assists in the day-to-day operations of the program. On Sept. 1, 2008, Cysewski promoted Pariano to the position of associate head coach, a move that came on the heels of Pariano being named the 2008 NWCA Division I Assistant Coach of the Year.

Matt Storniolo A two-time All-American at 149 pounds while wrestling for Oklahoma, is the newest addition to Northwestern's coaching staff, head coach Tim Cysewski announced on July 24. Storniolo has spent the last two seasons as a volunteer assistant at Old Dominion where he trained closely with Ryan Williams, the 2009 NCAA runner-up at 141 pounds.

Technique Camps
Ages (7-18)
The 2010 Northwestern Wrestling technique camp will help you achieve your summer wrestling objectives and will lead you to an outstanding 2010-11 season. You will train with one of the finest collegiate wrestling teams in the nation and you will be learning from NCAA Champions and World-Team members. In 2010, we will be incorporating more live wrestling in the afternoon sessions!

Intensive Training Camps
(Ages 12-18)
Many sessions will be held in the Ken Kraft Wrestling Complex. This multi-million dollar wrestling complex will give you one of the finest training facilities in the nation to prepare for summer competition. We will structure this camp toward your needs. You will need to arrive in shape and ready to work hard for three to four sessions a day!
  • In te past, this camp produced Junior National Champions and
    numerous Cadet and Junior All-Americans
  • This camp is limited to the first 50 applicants
  • Preparation for schoolboy, cadet and junior national
    competitions (freestyle and Greco roman technique)
  • Prepares you for the high school season
  • You will receive weight training technique from a certified
    strength and conditioning coordinator

  • Competition Camp
    Age Groups: IKWF/Junior High/High School
    This camp will take individuals to the next level and will give you a chance to learn the team concepts that the Wildcats have perfected.
  • Every wrestler will receive 12-14 matches throughout the
    camp
  • A team champion will be awarded and we will also have
    individual outstanding wrestler awards in every age division
  • Each team will have an NU wrestler as their personal coach
    for the week, he will provide you with written feedback
  • You will receive strength training from a certified strength
    trainer. We will host tire tosses and beach races!
  • If your team only has 2, 3 or 6 available wrestlers, we will combine teams to create a full line-up
  • You will receive 4 hours of instruction per day; in addition
    to your team duals, and the individual tournament on the
    final day of camp.
  • Weight Classes will be determined upon arrival. If your team is missing a certain weight area we will make additions.

    If a coach provides a full team (10 wrestlers or more from one team), the coach from that program will be invited to attend the week of camp. (The only cost incurred is room and board). Please email us for more details: a-pariano@northwestern.edu

  • Check in and Pick up Times Check in times: is held between 12:30 AM and 1:30 PM on the Sunday of each technique, team & intensive camp session. Camp check-in will take place at designated Dorm. (Team Camp participants are encouraged to check-in together!)The first session of wrestling will begin at 2 PM.
    (One week prior to your camp, detailed information (regarding dorm location, practice venues, rules, etc.) will be emailed to each camper)
    Pick-up times:
    4:00 PM on the Wednesday of both technique camps and the team camp. Pick-up for the intensive training camp will take place at 4:00 PM (Thursday, July 1st). All pick-ups will occur in the lobby of the designated camp dormitory

    Do I need money for the week? Most campers will buy pizza’s and refreshments in the evening. You can also purchase snacks from the camp store as well as Official Wildcat Merchandise including sweats, hats, socks, etc.

    Facilities The Wildcat Wrestling Summer Camps will be conducted on Northwestern’s Lakefront campus. Campers will use both Welsh-Ryan Arena and the new Ken Kraft Wrestling Comlex. The camp will also use athletic fields overlooking Lake Michigan and the Chicago Skyline. Overnight campers will be housed in a Northwestern University dormitory.

    Rules and Eligibility RULE:
    Any violation or abuse or the camp rules will cause immediate removal without refund.
    ELIGIBILITY:
    In accordance with NCAA rules, graduating high school seniors are eligible to attend.
    Housing Forms If you register on line all the required forms will be attached to your reciept when you go to print. All forms must be completed, signed and brought to registration on the first day of camp.
    Supervision Every precaution will be used to prevent accidents. We do not, however, assume any responsibility for medical, dental, or expenses incurred as a result of accidents. A parent or guardian must sign the application before a wrestler will be accepted into the camp. A certified athletic trainer will be at every camp session.
    Refund/Cancellation Policy Registermefast.com DOES NOT issue refunds under any circumstances, except in the case of a processing error. In the event that you cannot participate or complete your camp, a partial refund can only be attained from Northwestern University Wrestling Camps.
